Back on around November 8, 2008, I posted a NaPodPomo episode about the movie Changeling. I believe I stated on it that it generated some ideas while watching the movie of interesting stories that could be written.

The movie is now available on DVD and available via your local rental store and NetFlix. It was released on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 17, 2009. So I figure if your going to watch it, you probably already have.

I won’t discuss what the movie is about, you can learn plenty by checking out the Wikipedia article about it here.

If you haven’t watched the movie yet, the following story ideas will contain spoilers to the movie.

  • Assuming Walter did escape, what happened? If he was still a live he’d be about 90, so entirely possible he could still be alive.
  • Arthur J. Hutchins, Jr (the boy who impersonated Walter) what in his background would cause him to decide to pretend to be the missing child? I could understand hoping to meet his favorite movie star, but to continue the facade must have had more reasons behind it, I would think.

I did also have another idea, which I remembered was more about the Wineville Murders, but no longer recall what was about.

Anyways, just some thoughts about interesting story lines.

So now I’ve been at HostGator for a month so far. And as I thought in my previous posting, it is nice having clear lines of distinction between the levels of support. Sometimes however it can be frustrating. Though as a general rule, if we know how to do something we can help the customer do it, with out getting into any issues, as long as we let the customer know this is beyond what we normally offer, and other agents may not help them with the same issue.

If you look on a map, Houston is really close to the Gulf of Mexico, though not close as compared to how close I was to the ocean when I lived in Torrance and Manhattan Beach. (I’m currently about 62.7 miles away from the Gulf of Mexico).

When I first got here, the weather seemed to be pretty comparable to that of Manhattan Beach and Torrance, I assume that is the heart of winter here. We then got some very muggy days, and then some very rainy days. For a week now its been raining at least an hour each day.

From Flood

Hopefully this will go soon, its supposed to warm up to the 80′s starting later this week.

A few years ago, as I was getting ready for work one morning, I wounded up leaving some stuff on my car while I ran back in to get something I had forgotten. What if this stuff isn’t here when I come back, was the thought that crossed my mind. It was kind of slow at some point during the day, and so I wrote the following:

“Hey Charlie, did you see tha?” asked Tony in an urgent voice.

“Huh? Wah? See what?” replied Charlie, in a halfway sleepy voice.

“Tha guy over t’ere he just lef some stuff on his car, and walked away” replied Tony.

“Per’aps he jus’ forgot somet’ing, an’ he’ll be right back,” Charlie said, trying to go back to sleep.

“I don’ care why he lef, its time for Rob’n Hood, to take from the rich, and give to us poor” said Tony excitedly.

He stood up, to cross the street when Charlie pulled on his old tattered coat. “Now jus’ hold’n,” Charlie started, “jus’ look at that old car. He don’ look that much bett’r off than us. Robin Hood, wouldn’t steel from some’ne who was j’st a lit’le bet’r off than us. He would go afte’ the pee-ple wif them fancy cars.”

Tony shot Charlie an angry look. “Jus’ ’cause you got all tha’ fancy book learning. Got all th’ way to your second yea’ of high school, you t’ink you can tell me wha’ someone wuld ‘ave dun?”

Across the street, the owner approached, his car opened it, and started putting the stuff in it.

“See wha’ you did now? He leav’n an’ we dun’ hav’ any of his stuff” growled Tony quietly, as the car started and drove off. “I nev’r can figger you out, you drag me to this corner, an’ then we don’t even get nuttin from a perf’ect stranger.”

Charlie pulls out a faded picture from his old tattered coat. Most of the color from the photo is gone, just mere outlines of what was there. A smile creeps to his weather worn mouth. Finally, he thinks to himself, I got to see my lil’ boy all grown up. He quietly puts the photo away, as his friend is still ranting about not stealing from the ‘stranger’.

Would love to hear your feedback.

Woke up early this morning (early for someone who didn’t go to bed till 4 AM anyways), and while doing some searching online to see when the State of California will give me my refund, I saw the following at Google:

Google saying its currently 0 degrees in Houston, TX

Google saying its currently 0 degrees in Houston, TX

I thought this was really suprising, considering how warm it is in my apartment.

Guess I will file this in with occassional odd news that Google gives.
